救世軍 謹啟
Dear,
Thank you very much for your valued support to The Salvation Army. Your generosity enables us to provide assistance to the people in need.
On 20 April, a devastating 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck Yaan, Sichuan Province which killed at least 193 people, injured approx. 12,000 and left 1.5 million homeless. Immediately after the earthquake, The Salvation Army relief team set off to Yaan City from its Sichuan Earthquake Reconstruction and Recovery Office. In spite of landslides and roads blocked, the Salvation Army relief staff arrived in Rongjing, an outer county of Yaan City.
The Salvation Army staff were informed that Longmen, Taiping, Shuangshi and Baosheng, in Lushan County were the worst hit townships. Most of the houses in the area are traditional small huts built with green tile roofs. They were all severely damaged by the quake.
The Salvation Army relief personnel are now delivering emergency food supplies such as cooking oil and instant noodles to the mostly hit Taiping and Longmen townships. The Salvation Army has commenced an assessment on the needs of the survivors and, we plan to provide folding beds and food for those who lost their homes in this disaster.
The Army has office in Sichuan Province. Our staff will closely monitor the relief programmes to ensure that your donation will help the earthquake survivors.
Act now! Please help the survivors of Sichuan earthquake.
